Und schön schreibt er auch noch, z.B. über Hochzeit auf dem Standesamt:

After Jutta and Sven signed themselves away to each other, the old man began talking about marriage and love, in a mix of the passive and German constructions distancing the speaker from the audience. As the newly married couple kissed he allowed himself a smile, mixing a distant human warmth after a dense tangle of bureaucracy.

It was the most German thing I’ve ever seen.
